 Abstract: On 15 January 2022 at 4:15 UTC Hunga Tonga Hunga Ha’apai submarine volcano was exposed and its explosion generated a tsunami as a unique global disaster in the Pacific Ocean. This study pointed to near- and far-fileld tsunami simulation, based on Numerical modeling. We estimated submarine explosion geometries result in a suitable explosion magnitude of approximately 25 megatons of trinitrotoluene (Mt) to determine with the waveform from the tide gauge. We estimated the maximum initial air pressure from the submarine explosion was assumed to be approximately 50 hPa with the 25 Mt. Using the nonlinear wave model, the calculated initial air pressure was used to simulate tsunamis.
